French Bread Pizzas

Put on some early 2000's music and break out the little milk cartons because we're throwing it back with French bread pizzas tonight!

Okay, okay, I know that this isn't technically a recipe because there is little to no actual cooking, but sometimes you need an easy, indulgent meal. My family is really big on meal planning and something we've started to do to lead into the weekend is plan something fun and definitely less healthy for ya' on Friday.

So here's the line-up.

A nice and soft baguette will do the trick, shamelessly use jarred marinara for this guy too, mozzarella, and for topping we have on hand Italian sausage, pepperoni, and some basil from our little plant.

I went ahead and cut the loaf into my desired sizes instead of making the entire thing at once because that way everyone gets to make their own! Another way to do this is to just cut the entire loaf in half and assemble.

We slathered these pieces in a mixture of melted butter, garlic, and oregano, but some olive oil will do just fine. Throw those guys into the oven for a couple minutes.

Now for the fun part! Top with marinara, cheese, and desired toppings. Other options: bell peppers, onion, grilled chicken, mushrooms, olives, anchovies - basically anything, but under no circumstances may you put pineapple on this perfect meal.

Bake for about 10 minutes until they're nice and bubbly and top with some chopped basil. Maybe serve with a salad so you can feel like you had something semi healthy for dinner.
